Default Pumped Guards?????????????

Ventured out to Winton yesterday and noticed the FPR cars have some different looking front guards to the rest of the field of FORDS.Is this allowed in V8 supercars? or am i seeing something i shouldn't be seeing.

The teams all pump there own guards so as long as they're within spec the shape can vary.
I remember a few years ago Larko argueing that they should be able to use fibreglass guards so they didn't have to waste so much money modifying the standard ones.

Yeh they all have pumped guards, I guess its just hard to see in that pic of courtneys car, but when you see them in the flesh you'll notice they all have it.

Here is a better angle of Ambrose's old SBR Falcon. You can see the guards are quite pumped out as well.

They flare them out so there is more room for the tyre. Otherwise the tyre would be constantly rubbing on the guards.

Nah, it's just that you're looking at Courtney's car which they are trying to make smaller so he doesn't hit so much.

between the two first pics, on is stationary and has normal wheel to guard clearance, and the other is driving with load on that side, so it makes it look alot different
