Default PC Help, Petty, albeit niggling problem

Hey Guys,

Of late, it seems that there is a problem with the configuration of my desktop. When I first got the computer, the Program/file/folder names underneath icons on the desktop were just on their own, in classy rounded writing with a hint of shadow beneath them. They integrated over the wallpaper and looked nice.

NOW. FOr some reason theres these ugly grey rectagle borders around the names that look like the letters/words have been highlighted (as below)

It makes it look like an older crappy version of winderz, taints the nice wallpapers that I enjoy having on my desktop, and it annoys me up the wall that i've clearly changed a setting and I dont know what I've done. Does anyone know how it is changed back to NOT having those grey borders around the icon names???

Please some of you IT Gurus, Give us a hand!!! Cheers!

-Danny

Right click on 'My Computer' and select 'properties'. This should open the 'System Properties' box.

Click on the 'Advanced' tab and under the 'performance' header, select 'Settings'.

Scroll drown the list and click the checkbox "Use drop shadows on icon labels on the desktop', click 'apply' and 'ok'.

I hope that works for you.
