Default LW Trend Powershift Hatch

Best price anyone has got or know of ?
Any help would be very much appreciated.
$22,888 is the cheapest on carsales except for one with over 17,000k's on it.
They are demos at that price...i know a new one can be had for the same.
I reckon a nut buster deal would be $21,500 based on past experience.

Being honest here because I think I am looking at a new focus as long as it passes the baby seat test.

Why get a trend? The extra's you get over the ambient are not thaaat good and it uses more fuel? I dont get it.

Yeah but why? Are you buying the car for performance? It may have more kws, and another ratio (manual) but it uses more fuel so it all seems in vain.

Baby seat test = seeing if they actually fit, its a tight squeeze in a Mk5 golf and the focus is pretty much the same so it should be ok.

Not for performance as such just a smoother drive.
I don't want a piddly 1.6 that I have to thrash to death nor do i want the Diesel.
As for fuel economy I'm sure it'll be better than my Falcon

1.6L engine from the Fiesta in a heavier car probably 300-400kg heavier isn't going to be great on fuel, you're going to have to thrash the crap out of it to get it to move, there goes any percieved fuel saving.

Just done a 300k plus run in a 1.6. Just not right. sits at 3,000 rpm on the freeway (to be expected) and is constantly hunting for a different gear. Just need a good run in the 2.0ltr now to compare

Must admit i was basing my opinion on official adr's so it would be interesting to see what the real world difference is. If you really worried about power then a xr5 would be better wouldnt it?

The 2.0L will sit just above 2100 RPM at 100km/h matey. Having owned a 1.6L in my Fiesta, I’d definitely want something bigger in the Focus, and the 2.0L seems to offset the extra bulk with some extra punch to boot. With the added benefit of Cruise Control, don’t think you could go wrong with the 2.0L motor. Good luck!

Yes dan-, $22500 driveaway no more to pay (incl GST and stamp duty) Standard mats, boot scuff guard, scuff plates and iPod connectivity cable are the extras thrown in. I forgot to negotiate for tinting to be included so ended up spending an extra $300. Hope this helps.

Is this a Ford/dealer special or did you just negotiate a deal?

Negotiated. I was tossing among Focus, Mazda3 and Civic and was prepared to walk out when the dealer didn't want to meet my suggested deal which I did walk out, went to my car. Before I drove off, he came knocking on my car window, willing to 'meet half way'. Hence this was the driveaway price. I have tried to get the same deal for others on other forum but was told off by my dealer as he claimed I was very fortunate to score the deal and not to tell anyone. To me, they are still making heaps of money but I guess Ford probably wants to control the price, perhaps?

Yeah thought so but thought I'd ask because it seemed odd that two different people got the same deal. Was it floor stock?

I've noticed there are heaps of autos and **** all manuals on Carsales so perhaps they need to move them and no one wants to pay the extra for it.

The deal they have on is 22890 for manual Trend so that's a good buy what you got. I don't particularly want an auto so won't pay extra for it but for the same price as manual why not.

That is an excellent price that you got for a P/S Trend.

There is alot less money than what most think in them, especially the European models....

$21,888 on car sales now
Mustard olive with 3,000k's
I still reckon $21,500 would be do-able

titanium seems do-able under 30k
Big gap in price for seemingly not much more...although I'd really like Radar guided cruise control

I think Graham might have quoted from me from another forum. No, it is not floor stock. We had to order it and waited for a month to arrive. I was more than happy to buy floor stock but at that time most dealership had more Titanium Hatch and Sedan than Trend.

That's even better that you got that price on order because like I said it's below the national deal on the base Trend model. Awesome buy!

Thanks. I was going to pay full price anyway. I was very close to walk away and get Mazda3 instead but I am glad I decided to settle with the deal he gave.
