Default WS Fiesta - Battery

I am going overseas for three weeks.

Any problems likely with my battery?

3 weeks is not a problem if your battery is in good condition.

You can always disconnect the negative terminal to be on the safe side if you like.

You'll lose all your radio presets though.

I've left my WS Fiesta for 5 weeks plus without being driven, no issues here.

yeah I know but it's a 2mins job to set it up again. As I said it's not a big deal (unless the battery isn't up to scratch)

what about buying a charger/discharger?

the good ones that charge then discharge the battery a bit.

Thanks, guys.

I think the battery is in good shape. Never had a problem starting. Never left the lights on.

Gets a mention in the handbook - says several weeks - not very specific though.

How **** are ford service department?
I spent 3 hours driving between different dealers today trying to find a battery for my WS fiesta Econetic.
They don't sell or stock originals, just what, they call the identical replacement.
There "replacement" was 3/4 the actual size required and the bracket would cover the negative terminal if used. (unable to connect negative cable)
Eventually had to go to an independent battery supplier, how fixed me up within 3 mins and installed 5 mins later.
Wake up ford, why have a computer system if you cannot detail the correct parts. Very poor customer service and support.
This will be my last ford, as they just have no idea!

Yeah I always go to proper battery places these days. They usually know everything.

The only good thing about RACV batteries is they fail within the warranty period so you get another, we've had a lot of issues with those.
