Default Three things to come-

Like a lot of people, Ive always been interested in technology and how it can be adapted for ordinary tasks.

Audi at the moment are developing a sensor that will allow you to simply point at something and something will happen. So you could activate your gadget and by pointing your index finger, you could do things like:-

a) Open your door,
b) Open your boot
c) Open the bonnet or fuel cap
d) Move a sunvisor.

Different finger commands could let you turn the radio on and off, air and all of that. One day see no buttons at all on dashboards or event air vents.

Next of course is the dashboard and anybody who has seen the Ford Fusion will see that the digital age is fast approaching. I predict we will one day have instrument clusters that are wholly a monitor and will boast different themes and things on command. You could even upload a photo of your wife or girlfriend to sit next to your speedo.

Thirdly, everybody wants to see the global market recover, but when it does, we are looking at massive increases in petrol costs. In such case, it is very timely that we are developing the eco-boost and so forth. I predict that we will be paying $2.75 a litre for unleaded in a bit over three years time.

And for those of you without LPG, there is plenty of power and smoothness and the modern Ford Falcon is a genuine world class car.

All other predictions from the intrepid panel here welcome!

There is just no limits to the ideas and imagination really. I mean next they'll come up with a car that can change gears by itself.

And if you are someone who moves your hands while talking, you car will be opening doors, changing radio stations and all that while all you are trying to do is have a conversation.

Hey, leave the Italians alone.

Can you imagine the absolute bedlam hand gesture controlled Fiats would cause in the centre of Rome - now that's funny

$2.75 in 3 years? Cars before 2010 would be useless given there fuel consumption. If fuel prices hit that high in the very near future id imagine there would be public outrage and possibly riots.

2.75 does`nt sound to far fetched, we where round about 1.65 only a few weeks ago, they already pay 2.75 in some countrys.

What would be useful is a sensor that "knows" when you are nodding off and alert you, and if you do it more than a few times in a row, warns you that you have two minutes to pull over the vehicle and then deactivates the car...kind of pertinent when you live out here where there are piles of accidents due to sleepy miners who've just worked twelve hours and try to drive two or three hours home on a break, who could be coming towards you on the highway at 110kph...

In a few years all cars will have it, I suppose it's like central locking and power windows.
