The govt should stop wasting our money on proaganda.

Heard on the news today they spent enough in one days primetime TV advertising of the preposed IR reforms, to pay the wages of 50 registered nurses for a year....

eb u owe me a 19" tyre, hit a hole the size of a olympic pool last week and put a egg sized lump on my sidewall. what ever happened to the 3+3 nsw had on gas ?? did it just blend into the overall price. I had one of thoes days on wednesday, it was my Bday, i had to go to the coast for 2 small jobs, which turn into 2 big nightmares, but i thought i would be kind to my body and buy water instead of fizzy drink, well 3.70 for a fruckn bottle of fish frucked water , no wonder i drink beer , its cheaper...then my clean washed and polished car got caught in that hail storm , and i headed back to brissy to pick up my wheels which had been flown in from the uk, they are 1 month late and now i have to pay , warehouse storage, customs , brokers , duty, gst , handling and cargo management fees of $400 , for something i paid for a 3-5 day door to door service.. thats winging
i got home to my 2 young kids and forgot all about the crap day i had and cut my cake and made a wish , cant say what is was but if ford make a blown big block all wheel drive , u can thank me OK

I agree with donkeylover, wasnt that long ago I was in Los Angeles, stayed at a swish hotel at Santa Monica beach, a park area right next door to the hotel was full of homeless people and this is meant to be the richest country in the world. Then was in mainland China, my god, some of the poor buggers there, its heartbreaking. WE may think we are hard done by, but until you actually go to other countries, you dont realize that we are the luckiest country in the world, without exception. My personal opinion is that little Johnny Howard is the best PM I have seen in my lifetime. How quickly we forget the 18 and 19% home interest rates of the late 80's - early 90's. Thank your lucky stars for what we have here.

This is a good point... but registered nurses do not grow on trees. You need people to be willing to undergo the training and enter the career. Same goes with most healthcare positions - there's money there to be spent on them... but no one willing to do the work...

I voted more guns an bombs, cus when the majority of the world is rooted an overpopulated they will look to Australia and realise that with a bit of tinkering with the rivers an some pipelines they could support millions more people than is presently here. It might not be pretty or enviromentaly friendly but it's possible.
And as it stands at the moment we couldn't do sqaut about it if we wanted to...

It is predicted by some that 'asia' will see a major war within 20 years or so, this sees the military budget necessarily expanding to help cope with that. Many reasons and issues far to involved to go into here.

Islamic militants in Indonesia are, as reported, attempting to drive a 'wedge' between Hindu Bali and the Indonesian majority residing outside the island. The reason is to 'fracture' and 'isolate' the Hindu and Buddhists of Bali. This 'legitimises' bloody attacks. A reason why Balinese demand the instant death penalty against the initial Bali bombers, Amorosi and the like. The militants elsewhere see this Balinese reaction, and are then 'encouraged' to continue the jihad for an eventual islamic superstate. They would be delighted to use full 'state military power' to achive that. Only 'polarisation' of peoples will see that eventuality. Inevitable reaction by victims - helps achieve that.

This delightful reality hits most of asia from Thailand, where buddhist monks are executed in its South, to Delhi India where 'terrorists' leave their cowardly calling cards. China has similar simmering islamic tensions in its far west territory, a situation similar in parallel to Russia's relationship with its neighbouring Islamic states.

In Indonesia, such active groups have been waging this effort for many years against 'christian' enclaves and majority christian populated Islands, where the latest heroic actions by these thugs has been the beheading of three christian girls walking to school, (how dare they) with a fourth, seriously injured. It goes tit for tat and 'polarisation' and hatred is achieved.

Then we have the same militant groups bent on the elimination of the Melanesian race from West Papua, with some six ferry loads of muslim indonesian settlers arriving each day to further displace.

NB - The suggestion to abolish the States is a no go. This country was initially a nation of sovereign States, each has it's own Constitution. This is still a reality today, and I as a New South Welshman would not give up this history for some all powerful centralist Federal State. In reality, the Commonwealth does not have all that much power, only that granted it by the States.

Its not the state governments that need to be abolished, its the local governments. In a country of only 19 million people, why is there a need for 3 tiers of government each with there own agenda's, each with there own spin doctors etc. Abolish the local governments and have 1 representative for each area who reports to a minister in the state government.

abolish local government and say goodbye to all the little communities and towns that feed the cities pig troughs.
at least our local council is trying to prevent the state government from allowing an open cut coal mine being developed 2km from my front yard.

our population is actually over 21m now.also we wont need to worry much longer about roads as when the new industrial relations laws come in ,the workers wont be able to afford to drive anyway,

I voted for roads, cause lets be honest they are stuffed anyone living around Melbourne or Sydney that has to travel around peak hour knows how bad they can be and also military way I see it is that if someone is willing to risk there lives for there country than the country better be prepared to do all it can to minimise the risk
