Guys, this may seem stupid to you guys, but I'll ask anyway.
1. The standard headlights on an EA Falcon. Are they a sealed unit or am I able to take it apart? 2. Cat converters. Are they able to be screwed off and on? (I'm probably best to go and have a look at this Q). Something used to leak oil onto this and I got that fixed, but I think that is has a couple of holes in it, cause I can smell exhaust (and see it on some occasions) coming from there.

1. Yes they come apart little metal clips all the way round, just do it carefully as the lenses are glass and can chip.
2. technically yes, the two bolts at the manifold, and the two bolts under the car near the gearbox, and the section comes out contaning the cat (well most cars)

Thanks Dellboy. I'm doing some tinkering on the weekend. Now, to buy a new second hand cat converter.

The bolts at the manifold will be rusty and a real pain in the *** to get undone, a bit of WD40 and lots of sweat and swearing will get them undone. The bolts lower down (near gearbox) will be easier and you will need a new gasket between these flanges.

something that might interest you, cats up to EL (possibly AU - but i know EL for sure as i fitted an EL one to my EA when i had it) will go onto an EA.
like. if you got an EL one it will have more chance of being a good unit than an EA one |

an air ratchet or rattle gun may help with those manifold-cat bolts...
