XA Superbird, white with blue. 302 4 speed, 12 slotters. $4000 in 1999. Was in top condition. Just got my P's and wanted it, but was just a bit short on the cash. Bought a 351 XD Fairmont instead, but it would have been worth 5 to 10 times the sale price now if i'd bought the superbird.

I didn't go ahead with a purchase of a Brock VK Commodore Group A, the 'Blue Meanie', back in the early 1990's.

I was still in uni and $16,000 was a lot of money for me though I had enough saved up that I could have bought it outright - bought a house instead.

Another one I forgot about around 2002 a mate of a mate was going through a divourse and was offered me his XY GT replica for $10k, it had only just finished its ground up rebuild.. Gorgeous car with a 383 stroker motor in it.. I was a poor 20yr old at the time and had just bought an EBII for $7500... I know what I should have bought!

In 1992 two cars still haunt me
#1 XB Coupe 351 auto 9", black fat hotwire mags and sunroof, had already had a hard life $2000

#2 XC wagon ex-show car 351 auto lime green immaculate condition $4000

Instead I bought an XE 4.1 efi wagon instead, for $6000, which seemed sensible at the time

This one isn't as exciting as some of the others; but here goes...

A few years ago not after I wrote off my VX SS Commodore; I had the chance to buy a VTI GTS for a measly 13k, low kms, full service history, leather, 355 stroker, manual the thing was to die for (for a Holden fan)! After weeks of pondering and taking it for a few test drives I decided to go a VT SS Commodore I spoted, a little rough but seemed solid and half the price of the GTS...

Well I regret not buying the GTS, with the money I spent on the VT SS and the heart ache it cause I could have brought 2 GTS's I was very happy to see the SS go just a few months ago after 3 years of breakdowns, frustration, replacement parts and even having the car stolen (and recovered).

And that is exactly the thinking that in 2004 led me to buy a BA XR6 instead of an AUIII Pursuit 250 Ute. My last car purchase as a single man and I didn't make the most of it. Big regret.

At least I still have the coupe!!

I could have bought an original vl walkinshaw back in 97 for $22k. Guy never drove it. Instead I bought a current model vs v8 calais. I didnt reallt like the overdone looks of tje bat mobile.

But today they would be worth a bit.

1996 - Fully restored XB GT - Sandstone Beige - 13k. Me and a mate still talk about it because at the time he bought a Telstar TX5 which cost the same amount.

2000 - MK1 Escort Worked 2ltr inc twin webers, Good Body, Half Cage - $1300

2005 - VK Bluey missing a couple of little things - Approx 15k. Was at the auctions, still kick myslef for not "investing" in this one.

XA GT Coupe in 2000 up in the Perth hills going for $6000. Apparently was once a show car but panel work was all bog and was seriously cracking up. Would have taken it for $4k but wouldn't budge.
Not a complete loss though, soon after picked up my current XC GS coupe factory 220000kms 351 4 speed and 9 inch minimal rust (back then) for
$3500. Offered him $4500 but wouldn't take it just wanted it gone.
Besides would have had to make the XA GT original where as can have a bit of fun with the XC. Still be worth a bit now though.

..... and so long as it's not a hatchback! Not manly enough for me you see.....

I regret not buying a...... well I haven't really had enough time to regret any cars so far.

I had the chance of buying an XD ESP as my first car back in 2000, for $1500. As it didn't have a roadworthy my dad didn't let me buy it.

Also, my brothers mate offered to sell my his V2 Series 3 Monaro for $25k 3 years ago, when they were still selling for about $35k, as I just bought a house, I didn't have the funds to buy it.

They would have to be the rarest Fords ever built!

Both TL50 & Phase 4, the only one's ever built & sold off the lot!!

XB factory GS coupe from a mate about 8 years ended up putting another mate onto it. Turned out it had bugger all rust and was very straight. He is now just about finished rebuilding it. He got it for $3k.
And these two, not so much I was going to buy them but what a steal.

WOW that certainly is great buying there.

Last century, when I was a teenager going to my secondary school in Lakemba there was a small car yard on Canterbury road, sorta opposite an Anglican church, up a little from the Muller and Muller mini car yard / garage.

There, sitting in the lot for $9,999 was a mint Mach 1 Mustang. Geeze, would have been early to mid 90's.

Could I have bought it?? Hell no lol.

I thought they built 3 T3 TL50's, or do you mean the only one that was a customer order, as the other 2 were Ford company vehicles, one for Craig Lowndes and the other was a P build, press car?
