My 18month old car suddenly loses power and drops from 100kmph to kangaroos before being unable to move. Motor still runs but car won't move (hops a few metres). Has anyone else experienced a similar situation and solved this problem. As it only happens periodically (first time in 3 months this week) the dealers and technicians are unable to find a solution. To be honest it is a terrifying experience as ther is no warning and no time to get out of traffic flow. :

Stay clear of safeway fuel, I'd say run a few tank's off premuim and see how it goes, but don't use cheap fuel.

Well Ford have sent the car back again, unable to locate the reason for this power loss problem. I hope it doesn't happen again, the last few times were very frightening becuase of the location and time of the power loss. We were lucky then but may not be so lucky next time.
