Default FOCUS LV COUPE CABRIOLET (Any good??)

Other half is due for a new (ish) car and would love a convertible (as is the way!)
Likes VW EOS, and I'm trying to talk her around to a Focus (being the Ford man, I am)
Plus EOS 2009/2010 ARE pretty pricey.
There are a couple of ex FMC cabrolets (08-09 models) on car sales with minimal Ks and priced around the 30-32k mark. By minimal Ks , I mean under 10,000
Can any of you well versed Focus guys give me the guts on these things? (known issues etc) and basically.. are they a good everyday ladies car?
Thanks..

Here's a review. This guy is obviously not a fan, but there's some stuff worth considering. Namely, relative lack of performance (the extra hundred kilos or so of kerb weight tied to the same 107kw motor and auto transmission). I've also heard it's worth checking out the auto has been serviced regularly, because of that extra weight putting a strain on it. Also, check that the roof is still taking 29 seconds to do its stuff without strange noises (I'd guess you'd just know if it didn't sound quite "right").

This is a good buyers' guide.

Hmmmm. Thanks for those reviews.
Sounds like they're a bit of a slug eh?.. Pity they didn't put the Volvo turbo in the cabriolets, because apart from being massively under-powered these things seem to have all the bells and whistles.

They have lots of features, but can suffer from issues mainly revolving around the roof. Linings falling down, rattles, leaking etc.

Some parts are hard to get as well.

Had one in at work that needed a new rear window actuator and it took 4 weeks for the parts to come from overseas with it ordered VOR

Seen a couple with climate control issues also, otherwise they aren't too bad - pretty underpowered though...

It is a shame, but there's always the Volvo s60 for that.

If you're insistant on a convertible, have you had a look at an MX5? If you get past the whole Hairdresser's Car stigma they're meant to be quite a good drive.
