Been an entrant since summer nats 10 and been to every Summer nats from Summernats 4.

Last year was the worst as there were no people there, I will not be going back next year. Have often brought my girlfriend in the early years and my wife. Never had any dramas, and she has always been happy to walk around.

Its only the girls that provoke it walking around dressed like hookers that get hassled. Most women that get hasseled are looking for it. I have always been there with women and have always camped no issues

Make a new event a muscle car event no rice burner slope cars no mini truck just a traditional muscle car pre era event that will attract some descent people i was there last year and i have to say it couldnt get much worse it was like taking your most prized possession and dragging it through the rubbish tip the place was an absolute mess drunk people everywhere abuse yelled left and right its not the sort of event anyone would want to go too thats why ratings went down... keep it original!!!!!!

Im sure someone has enough idea and experience on these events to host something make it a charity related cause i dont know someone think of something...!!!

i just opened up the new street machine mag and they are already plugging summernats 23 so, somethings going on obviously.... wonder if its chic's nats now or someone elses.... I for one hope its new owners with a new direction.

I remember one year (cant remember exactly wat one) the 1st year i went, you were allowed to bring ya own grog but after a bit of hassel, they canned that idea and no outside grog anymore. The following year i remember the crowd was down, the atmosphere seemed better due to the less grog around and even tho the crowd was down that year, the crowd picked up the next so that SHOULD of set the gears in motion to cut down the grog..... just my 2c but maybe chic should of been seeing the signs instead of the 6 figures in his bank account... but if he isnt the owner now then its not his issue anymore i guess...

I agree on most of your points as I've been going there since summer nats 7 and this year was the quietest I had ever seen it. But I thought it was more family friendly this year as on the Saturday and Sunday more families were noticeable

The yobs that are in drunken groups look for females to show their breasts problem is the ones that are seekers do it and then they yell and carry on and expect every female to show.

There was talk of the Sunday not happening in the future if crowds keep falling

The thing I find more annoying is some of these groups of dirt bag drunks will see some 13-15 year old girls with their parents and start annoying them and most are really disgusting individuals with no consideration to other people

'P' off the ricers and let only old school muscle in that should get rid of some of the 'D'head factor. Also a good idea would be no alcohol before 5pm and you have to purchase tickets to buy alcohol. Stop selling ticket before 5pm so people can only drink with what tickets they have already bought. Then put a limit per ticket holder of how many tickets they can purchase each day. I know there would be ways around this like a non drinker purchacing tickets for a mate or alcohol getting snuck in, but it would have to be better then it is now.

I have never been, always wanted too. I was in canberra this year while summernats was on, but I did not go.

The reason I did not go is I have no intention of going somewhere that drunken morons are going ape and I am certainly not taking Tori there. If it cleans up I may go, until then I will not. I am sure I am not alone.

After reading that former Street machine of the year winner, Steve Leerentveld was angered by the drunken mobs, especially after he would not perform a skid (twin turbo LJ torana) yet they decided to lift the car by the guards and ruining them, he said he would not go to that event ever again unless they kerb the alcohol.

Powercruise is alcohol free and is a place to take the family without fear, Motorvation here in the west is mid strength alcohol only too.

I havent been to a summernats yet, i do intend to only after the booze issue is sorted. Last thing i want is to have a great day only to get into a punch up.

Yep that stuff is happening at the Nats, but not ALL the time. I've been to the last 9 or 10 and its got better in some ways and worse in others. Putting together a highlights package of drunken louts causing mayhem is very easy. Lets say that clip was put together from hours of filming each day over 3 days, its not alot really, if we filmed a crowd after an AFL match you wouldn't go because splicing together a clip would mean its an all out punch on afterwards?
Yeah, banning booze sales all together might be what it needs, even though I like a drink or 3. Some people just cant handle the booze though.I think alot of the day trippers are the ones keen for mayhem as they don't lose out too much if they get kicked out.
I don't really know what it needs to fix it, maybe a change of name, and a change of culture. Maybe eject the chics who get there gear off that fuel the fire? Its meant to be about cars, is'nt it???

For the people saying only have old school muscle, the crowd would probably be lower than what it is. I know I wouldnt bother going if it was purely OSM.
