g'day guys
Im looking at buying a car which is registered in NSW but i live in VIC. What do i need to do for the swap over and roughly how much does this cost?. any help will be appriciated thanks |

To my knowledge just a RWC from Vicroads......
Someone else will probably be able to tell you of cost as i have no real experience in the matter....

i was told i need to get a blueslip? i did some research, thats only for sydney. so Vicroads only needs a RWC, but what if there is rego still on for the NSW plate, can i transfer it on. Im just looking at how much this process is.

Not sure about Vic, but here in NSW we loose all remaining Rego as the car has to be Blue slipped and new rego is given

what ever suits your state qld =roadworthy ,new south =whatever slip ,vic roadworthy ,i dont think you can transfer remainder rego between states ,will have to cash the plates in i think but could be wrong

You can not transfer the remaining NSW rego to Victoria. You will need to cancel the NSW rego and re register it in Vic as a new rego, also you will still need to pay a transfer fee and stamp duty. (3% value of purchase price)
