hi my daughter has a laser, and it stopped on her several minutes after starting, the car has been a perfect gem, allways serviced and engine in great shape, she say it was blowing smoke and smelled of petrol, it restarted but did not drive as per usual, and would cut out if left to idle, hope someone can shed some light for me, thx in advance, joe.

was the smoke white on start up? is the car okay when warm? or cold starts does it start to play up and want to stall when in idle?
