Default Ford Field Campaign

Hey guys...

Have searched, spoken to a dealer principle at Sinclair Ford and asked a sales guy as well, but no-one seems to know 100%...

My 2001 Fairmont Ghia has a "Ford Field Campaign" sitcker on the inside of my door pillar...it has a number on it and says not to remove it...

Any ideas???

Mike

It means a service campaign has been carried out similar to a recall just not as serious. Someone on here may know what it is if you put the campaign number up.

Ford Field Campaign
2523 or 252B - not sure cause there is a mark that makes a 3 look like a B if that's the case

Do not remove this decal.

Thanks Torxteer for that

My 99 AU has one of these stickers, also in the same location.

Yeah, I've often wondered what the sticker means too.

They recalled the AU's to weld up a mount on the steering column, or something like that !

They recalled the AU's to put a weld on the end of the steering rack bolts. It was to stop mechanics from being able to being able to take the bolts out of the crossmember and dropping the rack down to remove it.

The had cars coming back with loose steering racks after being replaced that way as the bolts in the crossmember would come loose.

What model was it that had a bolt over torqued which, if it failed, there would be a loss of steering ?

Big recall IIRC.

Adam.
