While the basic Ford Six was code named Barra, the Turbo version clearly deserved its very own moniker – again enter Gordon Barfield.
We asked him if the engine had actually been called “Seagull” and how that came about.
“Actually it was just call “Gull”, because I named it that. Because we knew it was going to poo on everything”.

that makes me so envious , el xr8 was one of my dream cars when i was younger but there was no way i could get one 5 years ago when i was on my p's. Now p-platers are getting them! so jealous, take care of her mate and treat it well, they are still a nice car!

impressive times too, i remember the xr6 was quicker in the el and my mates el xr6 use to run low 15s so your time is impressive especially taking into account they are older/have higher kays now.

i even mentioned to my mrs about downgrading my xw for an el xr8 when i saw one on the road a couple weeks ago and she said they were ugly! then i realised it was a silly statement, how could i sell my xdubbya :P
