Default Started my new boot install.

I have finally got around to starting work on the new boot install in the EB. I have got the subs in and running and still have to do the tidy up work and a good clean.

Oh and i have to turn the responce tag around on one of the amps still too.

That will go pretty hard, i Have some response gear and think it is very underated!

How does your box go for volume size? i Would think with 3 12'd it would be bigger? Did you make the box yourself?

Volume is a little under size i think, I made the box to fit in the back neatly without going overboard, cause i still need a bit of boot space to carry stuff. The box was originally only housing 2 x 12" woofers but with a bit of modding it now houses the three.

It sounds very nice, Tight and punchy, the way i like it.

They are running of the responce 1500wrms sub amp, However with the wiring config i could only do with 3 dual 4ohm coils, it is only running at 2.6ohms instead of 1 ohm where the amp makes its best power.

Nik, does that give you 3 x 1500wrms amps now? Holy crap that will pump. I used to have 2 of them in my old laser hatch with 2 x 15" 1500wrms subs and managed a 150db with them. This set up isnt aimed at the high spl and more for better sound quality.

I think that the 12's give a better sound then the 15's, More punch then rumble.
I am in the middle of fitting the 7" screen into the front of the consol at the moment, will post pics up when im done.

yeah that sub box seams a little undersized. i have a single 12 and the box is about half the size of that. (obvisoly a different shape)

Got the system all finished now, Will get pics tomorrow afternoon and post up. After all my tuning i managed to get 143.0db out of it. I am however getting a bit of cancelation cause that reading is with the boot open and with it closed i only get 138db.

I will have to build a new parcel shelf and there is the hole where the 8" sub would normally go still there which i think is causing some of it.

Here are a few more pics of the system finished for now. I still want to do a custom parcel shelf yet, But that will be down the track a bit.

We only have one of the dbm-2 meters that you can get from caraudioaustralia.com web site. Cheap but it does the job.

Gees you must work for jaycar like i do.. LOL..

Now i understand why your db reading was so high.. minus a minimum of 6 db (i have seen them read upto 20db higher) from that reading to give u a close approximation of wat u would get with a termpro db meter.. this is wat they use at competetions, etc..

Install Looks great..

Cheers,
Nik

Yep i sure do, And besides that the quality of the responce gear is great anyway. I would still run it even if i didnt work there. I am going to go to a sound off in cairns soonish to get a real reading from there meter. They have a new meter that has pressure pads that go on the screen that they got from the states and cost them somewhere around $6000 mark. So then i will have a better idea of how inaccurate our meter is.

Let me start by saying that im not a huge fan of big systems (i used to be but lost interest) but the standard of finish that i have seen on members systems in this club is excellent. Slayer351, well done it looks great.
