Exclamation Why is it........?

The fat guy on that show 'Lost' has been on a desert island for months....but he's still fat

Victoria cops have bright yellow traffic ops cars to act as a visual deterant to increase the visability of the police presence on the roads ...yet speed camera cars are unmarked and undercover?

If all the science that is devoted to anti ageing creams, shampoo development, cosmetics, shaving etc was devoted to helping mankind would we already have a cure for cancer?

When you go to a concert to see a top band they play for 2.5 hours with a 15 minute break - go to a pub to see a band and they can't play for 20 minutes without 'having a short break' for the next 30 minutes?

Any one else think of things like this?

Question: How do you make a car/s appear on my street?
Answer: Sit in my car in the driveway, select reverse and go to pull out - a line of cars will magically appear.
Why is it so?

Only problem being that all that stuff ain't science! :

Along those lines though, why is it that mankind, for all our engineering breakthroughs, can't develop an unbreakable well-built collapsible umbrella!!!! It's not much to ask in the big scheme of things is it? Just an umbrella that is well built enough to be able to handle any gust of wind without flipping inside out and destroying itself, one that expands to offer a decent area of coverage, and can then collapse into a handy pocket size!

:lookedat:

Why does 7/11, open 24/7 all days of the year, have locks on the doors?

Why is the ONLY governmant form that you fill out with an erasable pencil and do not need any ID whatsoever, a ballot, the one used to elect the government?

Ive always wondered....

Why is it.... that the people in our society who earn the most money... are the ones who never have to spend a cent of their own money on transport, parking and food?

Why is it that 100 years on, desoite all the advances in computers and technology, there is still no substitute for having 4 very expensive pieces of rubber on a car that wear out every 20,000kms.

Here's some light-hearted ones:

Why do they call them APARTments when they're so close together?
Why does Sour Cream have an expiry date?
How come they don't make the entire plane out of the same material as the 'indestructible' Black Box?
Why is 'abbreviation' such a long word?
Why is there no other word for Thesaurus?

Why is the aforementioned "black box" called such, if in fact it's a bright orange colour?

Why does the majority of the worlds income depends on something we dig out of the ground and is not infinite?
