Default warning tone

the last few days the ute has been giving random warning tones. this seems to happen at low speeds around town, usualy when i approach a stop or give way sign or slow to take a turn. its usualy just one or two single 'beeps' from the dash somewhere tho it has let out three but not in a timed sequence. just wondering if anyone has an idea what this is indicating, if anything , or is it a malfunction?
