The 2.7 brings the peak torque earlier in the rev range than the 5.0 (2,750rpm vs 4,500rpm). The 2.7 has a compacted graphite iron block for durability and is rated to tow 8,500 lbs in the F150. I think it will offer a great balance of low cost, high performance, light weight, and good fuel economy.
