Default Used car warranty

Just after peoples opinions on the requirements for a used car warranty.

In SA a car must be less than 15yrs old, more than $3000 and travelled less than 200k's to be worthy.
Now i dont have a problem with the age as a cut off must be somewhere, and not too many car yards sell good reliable cars for sub 3k so thats all good, but the k's part i believe needs to be changed.

In the last few days i have seen heaps of good EL/ Au's in the 4-6k bracket in yards which would be fit for a warranty on age and price but fall over on the k's part (most just over 200k's)
You could buy a dodgy extra care warranty but they dont always work out well as some only cover parts, others have a claim cut off limit $$ wise etc.

The thing is, a good EL/Au with 210k's is still going to be reliable in 3 mths so why shouldn't they be worthy of a second hand dealers warranty.

As the average k's travelled per yr has increased quite a bit in the last 10yrs should the kilometre rule be increased to say 250k's so someone spending 5k on a tidy Au will have some security on their investment.
