Default New FG Falcon mk2 website

Looks like there's a new site up with plenty interaction and a video coming soon. I also discovered some new things too with mk2 such as Driver Fatigue warning. Thoughts?

That must be quite new. Was on their website less than 2 weeks ago. Ford have plenty of award winning cars these days which is terrific.

But the link above to the Ford FG2 mini site is great. "Driven by Passion, Driven by Falcon".

One of the MANY things they are pushing is the fold down rear seat. The CGI stuff looks quite good too.

So, it seems that Ford have been listening and are gearing up for a big push of the FG2 Falcon. Someone mentioned in another thread, that it looked like a switch has been turned on with all the EcoLPi adverts on the radio and the newspaper stuff too.

PS Thanks for the link!

I'd say they're trying to highlight the 'space' issue compared to cars people are buying (Mazda 3 etc)

EcoLPI runs on the less energy dense but cheaper fuel. It is more efficient than the E-gas system is replaced

No mate, probably more reasons why but LPG is far less dense. Dare I say it could never be as "efficient".

FYI, the mk1 has a visual and audio alarm for driver fatigue. My 2008 F6 does anyway.

EcoLPI not only uses cheaper fuel, but it has 3kW and 18Nm more than the petrol version. Also less emissions.

bit weird that the partial-car pictured on the front page is an XR6 with the old 17's.. that would indicate it's an EcoLPi - but what's the point of showing that when there's no way to see it IS actually the LPG version.. a shot of the new 18's would be good, or 19's, preferably.

What a great website! The first time i've seen CGI falcons that actually look GOOD. The CGI engines with the specs is a good feature too. I also really like the "Design, Engineered and Built in Australia" symbol. Great work all round.

As for territory, saw a MASSIVE roadside billboard with the Territory and Kuga with "Paris or Rome, its your choice" or something along those lines this afternoon. Looked good also.

..... but why so late? Did they just have a change of marketing team?

They have a new marketing boss, who replaced the previous incompetent fool who's main part of going to work was sitting on her hands for 8 hours and trying to avoid falling to sleep.

This may just be a sign the new guy might actually have half a clue how to do his job. Hallelujah

Now where's my Beth Donavan dart board.

I looks like the structure change happened late last year.

Here is an article about is http://www.goauto.com.au/mellor/mell...25795D00141E22

With an attitude like that, glad that she is gone. She has been in the position since 2008, about the same time as when form marketing started going downhill.

Sitting on their hands for 8 hours and avoiding falling asleep? Sounds like my kinda job!

Lets hope this new person doesn't pull off the "walking fingers", otherwise I'll make sure I jam theirs where the sun don't shine.

I've seen a few Mk2s (XTs & G6Es) on the road this week.
I like the new front, very modern looking. Looks different to the series 1.
Bigger design difference compared to what Holden did with the VEs1 & VEs2.

He's certainly running rings around his predecessor by the looks of things. Given how important the website is to those researching a new car, I can't believe Ford tried to get away this this garbage for years...

The new material is clearly in a different league...

From GoAuto back in 5th Dec 2011.
http://www.goauto.com.au/mellor/mell...25795D00141E22
Quote:
Ms Donovan, who held the role since September 2008, has been replaced by another American, Brad Brownell, a 24-year veteran of Ford whose previous role was general manager of Ford’s US central marketing area, based in Dallas.

The change was announced today by Ford Australia president and CEO Bob Graziano, who said Mr Brownell brought with him a vast resource of knowledge from various senior roles.

“A large portion of his career at Ford has been directly involved with dealers,” Mr Graziano said.

Mr Brownell, who joined Ford in 1987 and served in a variety of senior management positions in customer service and global product marketing, told GoAuto that he had now spent 60 days in Australia, listening and watching.

He said he did not envisage major changes in the way Ford marketed its cars in Australia.

“I believe we have got the strongest line-up in our history, when you take a look at small medium and large cars, utilities and trucks,” he said.

“My role will be to get that message out so the average consumer understands that we have a more than competitive line-up – in fact, best in class in many key areas.

“So you won’t see a dramatic change in how we go to market. I just think there are some opportunities to ensure that the average consumer knows that we are relevant in the market place.”
We should all email Brad and congratulate him.
Hope he can have some effect on dealers as well.
