Default New Fiesta with optional 17" wheels - anyone?

Looking at getting my wife a new car as apparently it's her turn. As a small car I really like the new Fiesta so we took it for a test drive. Unfortunately she needs an Auto but that doesn't matter too much cause it is being bought as a City run about. Pretty cool car really.

Anyway I digress.........has anyone optioned their Zetec with the 17's? If you did how does it drive? Any chance of some photo's?

Thanks

Well I've ordered it for her with the 17's. While looking around the UK forums I found some pics with 17's.

Interesting their Zetec S gets no chrome around windows, fogs or tailgate. Clearly Ford Oz love the bling!

Didn't like the Ford 17'' wheels so we stuck with the standards on the Zetec and will go aftermarket.

They are just too busy.

They suite the "busy" Zetec lines tho in my opinion, thumbs up!

Each to their own tho

Totally agree mate

They don't look awful at all. They do fill the wheel arch better than the 16's.

When we change tyres, we may go for a higher profile. Might take the crispness out of the steering a bit but should ease the ride up and fill the arch more. Seemed to work well on the daughters Astina

What tyres are they putting on the 17's, Conti's or Hankooks ?

Not sure mate, apparently you can only get it shipped over from Germany with 16's. So when it arrives we are going to work out a deal for the 17's. The dealer wasn't sure yet on if they could organise a swap/trade/credit/maybe put the 16's on another fiesta in yard etc... plus i'm not 100% ill have the spare funds for the 17's.

What would be a good price tho for the 17's WITH tyres?

Also on the note of filling up the wheel arches, dropping her all round wouldn't hurt either! :P

LOL, only just makes it up our driveway now

The other reason for aftermarket 17's and higher profiles

I got a nice set for my car with tyres for $1600, but when i was looking around, you can normally pick them up for between $1000-$1500. In saying that, the tyre quality isnt normally all that good, so if ford are gonna give you the same sort of price with Conti's i'd buy optional 17's off ford.

How much does Ford charge for their 17's with tyres? Isn't it like $2500?

Ford state the RRP on the wheels is $1628

Tyres extra

Steering limiter (required) extra.

However, all depends what you can work into the driveaway price eh

I was just curious as I'm getting mine novated through work and have only got the final price not the breakdown price.

I just think they take your for a ride when the wheels themselves are only worth about $50 each more but charge you $1628 to upgrade. They don't give you the 16's to take home as well! Do they?

When we bought ours we looked at optioning it up with the 17's but aside from the look of them (which neither of us liked), it just wasn't worth it.

Hence aftermarket. However, I guess if you like the look of them, you need to pay up and try and screw the deal as good as you can to absorb the cost.

Agree with msnealo, you buy the opt wheels but you don't take home the stock ones.

Also agree with Candyman go aftermarket. You would be better off aftermarket with a huge range to select from plus something that would suit and maybe stand out.

Aftermarket would be my pick.

If the stud pattern is the same as the WQ there is not a huge range to choose from, the stud pattern is 4 in 108, which is a very uncommon pattern and hard to find. Trust me i kno, it took many days of hunting to find something decent with the correct stud size. Be careful as well, because some places may just tell you they fit, and grind the holes out, and to be honest, i didnt really want the part of the car that keeps me on the road bodgied up.

Local Tyre shop have 8 wheels for ours.

Checked the pattern and checked with Ford.

We are going to wear out the Hankooks and then change
