Exclamation putting 17" wheels and tyres on a non power steering 1990 ford laser??

hey guys,
i need some feedback about somthing i was told about putting larger rims and tyres on my laser,

i was told that putting large wheels on a 1990 ford laser that has no power steering will make it very very hard 2 turn the steering wheel is this true?

not to sure about believeing it as have seen alot of cars that have no power steering get around with large rim s on them im lookin at putting 17's on my laser will this effect my steering??

You'll loose turning circle, due to the larger size tyre and yes it'll be a little bit heavier.
The biggie is, they aren't legal on the car, so don't. Stick with a 16" if you want to stay half legal
