Found out I had T2 in 2010. I was 120 kg at the time, I am still only diet controlled, but I think that will change over time.
You are 100% correct about diet advice it is just standard advice. I to gave up sugar and now can't stand it.
If I eat fruit I.e oranges my levels hardly change, but speaking to others fruit sends them through the roof. For me it's butter that lights me up
It's something you have to play around your self to get it right
