Rear bearings don't need to be pressed in. They are a known weak point in the car and I changed them several times myself.

Can't help you with the workshop manual.

If it's the 1.5L you got hopefully its the 16v model. They had a short run of 16v twin cam engines in 97-98 and you could really feel the extra kw.

Sadly in 99 they didn't feel so generous and went back to the lower output 1.5.
