Ah OK, cool. Well, i did clean it all up pretty well and it is definitely coming from the fitting itself somehow, I cant see exactly, but it seems to be weeping from the thread area itself. The pump body seems fine.

The car has only done 110,000k's, i don't think the hose had been off ever before and the old O ring was visibly deteriorated, flat and cracked.brittle. the one that goes into the rack (which wasn't leaking) looked good, and as far as I can tell now, isnt leaking with the new O ring.

I guess I don't have much choice but to do the process of elimination as you suggested
