Two women, from Logan and Acacia Ridge, entered Queensland from Victoria via Sydney and have been diagnosed with COVID-19. Police were investigating how those women entered the state and why they were active in the community for eight days when they should have been self-isolating.

"These young women have gone about their business within the community they live in so there will be a large amount of contact tracing to be done," Queensland Health Minister Steven Miles said on Wednesday morning.

Queensland has closed its border with Sydney after two teenagers with coronavirus lied on their border declaration forms and dodged quarantine.

With actions like this, it is going to make it very difficult for authorities to get outbreaks under control.
