This is very GM, they throw out press releases to get the glory at being first at something
and then go off spending a ton of money doing it regardless of whether the timing is right or not.

To me the rhetoric doesn't match the planned BEVs arriving in the next few years, all of them
are either exclusive and high priced or more volume but still premium priced. GM has done nothing
to convince it's high profit truck and full sized SUV buyers to go 100% electric, I guess that's why
it's allowing 14 years for total transition.
That was my first thought too.
