In my eyes the only benefit to living in Melbourne is if you're in the thick of the action in inner suburbia close to the hospitality, art and culture.

There's no art/culture/hospitality benefit to living in Dandenong, Sunbury or Werribee.

With COVID19 there's no art/culture/hospitality anyway.

Personally I look at Southbank as prime positioning of you were to live in the thick of it - it has everything millennials could want on their doorstep, Yarra River promenade, restaurants, casino complex, Melbourne CBD across the river, public transport up the wazoo and the south end of King Street a hop, skip and a jump away.

Except Southbank is a vertical prison in pandemic times, nothing is open.

I generally don't like living in regional VIC in normal times, you want a night out you either have to organise a deso, book a hotel or stump up a $175 one way Uber ride and leave your car in the city (then get back to it tomorrow + parking fee)

But with the current situation it's great, but there's limited opportunity to work locally.
Franco, my ol man might want to rent you a room at his place, 23 floors up, 3 bedroom apartment, beaut balcony harbour views, 2 casinos Barrangaroo (opening soon) and Star city both within walking distance, across the road to King st wharf food precinct, looking down on the Darling Harbour Saturday night fireworks, Town hall station just underneath, traffic gridlock 18hours of the day. A short Uber ride to the airport to skip the authorities.

I usually last about a week there and that's it for me.
