The days of "V8s are the only way to go" are long long gone. The only people who are sad about losing a V8 are usually those who get off solely on an exhaust note alone, and who don't know the benefits of a smaller lighter car with a well sorted chassis and
adequate (or, with todays hot hatch fours, usually more than adequate) power delivery.
